I am considering the sale of my privately owned Ardnamurchan whisky cask.
This is not a broker listing and not a commercial cask investment offer. I am the original private owner who purchased the cask directly through Ardnamurchan Distillery’s Private Cask Programme in 2020.
Why I Bought This Cask
I am a whisky enthusiast from Japan.
Several years ago, I had the opportunity to taste some of the early Ardnamurchan spirit. I was genuinely impressed by the character and potential of the new distillery. At the time, I believed Ardnamurchan had a very bright future and decided to become a private cask owner.
When selecting a cask, I specifically chose a style that matched my personal preferences:
- Unpeated spirit
- American Oak ex-Oloroso Sherry Hogshead
- Filled in the summer of 2020
- Approximately 242 litres at filling
For me, this combination represents a balance between the elegance of unpeated Highland-style spirit and the richness of Oloroso sherry maturation.
The Original Plan
My original intention was never to flip or trade the cask.
I hoped that one day I would bottle the entire cask and share it with friends, whisky enthusiasts, and several bar owners I know in Japan.
Over the years, however, life circumstances have changed. Relocations, family responsibilities, and changes in my long-term plans have made such a project much less realistic than it once seemed.
Because of this, I have begun considering whether another enthusiast might be better placed to continue the journey of this cask.
About the Cask
The cask remains under private ownership and continues to mature under Ardnamurchan Distillery’s private cask programme.

For privacy and security reasons, detailed identifying information such as the cask number and full ownership documentation will only be shared with serious prospective buyers.
Samples
At present I have not requested a recent sample from the cask.
However, Ardnamurchan Distillery offers sampling options for private cask owners.
If a serious prospective buyer wishes to assess the current condition of the whisky, I may be willing to arrange a sample request from the distillery. Any sampling, shipping, administration fees, and related costs would be the responsibility of the interested party.
This can be discussed individually.
Transfer Process
I am based in Japan.
Japanese buyers may find the process simpler, but I am also open to discussions with international buyers.
Should a sale be agreed, ownership transfer would be conducted through the appropriate procedures required by Ardnamurchan Distillery.
Payment would be by international bank transfer.
After completion of payment and transfer arrangements, I would provide all relevant documentation in a secure and traceable manner.
Looking for the Right Owner
I am not in a hurry to sell.
Rather than seeking a quick transaction, I would prefer to have thoughtful discussions with someone who genuinely appreciates Ardnamurchan and understands the appeal of long-term cask maturation.

なお、最終的な所有権移転については、蒸留所側の規定および手続きに従って正式に行います。
